Untitled Poem from April 29, 2012

Everything is black
In everything I lack
should the sun shine bright
I may try again, I might

Running like a stallion in flight
That strength should be worth the fight
But, should I by chance, look back
In weakness I might slack

If I look behind me
I don't know what to expect to see
But, should I rest my eyes upon him
I hope my eyes don't go dim

For I hope to see eyes looking in return
With a stare into my eyes shall they burn
And as the day adjourns
I feel as I begin to mourn

Untitled Poem from June 7, 2012

Every time I close my eyes;
Every time I have you in my sight;
Every time I feel my heart in flight;
Every time my heart feels right,

I see your smile
It is worthwhile
No matter how many miles
Even if I have to cross the Nile

Your love carries me
With the same strength like the sea
As I carry on forward to let you see
I give myself to you and to just let it be

Received the tablet and very satisfied

I received my Acer tablet on May 28, 2014 and I have to say that I am very satisfied.  Anyone who says that a tablet is very limited is just not FLEXIBLE.

I'm so very happy to report that even though I can't use my preferred websites the way I wanted through apps, I can still work on them and even on some that I didn't know that I could!

1. Google Apps: They all work great!  I can access my email, YouTube and Google+ easily and quickly.

2. Facebook Apps: This of course is a no brainer.  I am fully connected to the regular app, messenger and the pages manager.  What is the pages manager?  I have two community pages that I own and manage on Facebook.  This is a huge step forward for me and am glad I can continue to share via my pages.

3. Bubblews: Easily accessible and I can use voice recognition to type up my whole articles!

4. Swagbucks, Slice The Pie, Quick Rewards and Instagc: These are my main websites for earning money and I am happy to report that I will still be able to access them with no problem.  There are some limitations because of course tablets are like cell phones and you can't do everything.  Some actions I will have to do via the android phone but that's okay because it's easy.  Slice The Pie is the one earning website that surprised me because I haven't been able to use it since the laptop began to give me problems.  I can easily rate and review songs and submit for payment.  Quick Rewards and Instagc are cash and gift card websites along with Swagbucks.  Those three are my main source and since they will be limited in actions on the tablet I can easily make up the difference.  There are plenty of options that can only be done via a mobile device for income so I'm good to go.

5. Financial Websites: I haven't tried to log into my financial websites yet which include my bank, PayPal and other sources.  I plan to leave this for last until I have secured the tablet completely with protection.

6. My Facebook games I love:  There are 3 games that I roughly play on a regular basis on Facebook.  I can only work on one of them and that is hilarious but it's okay because Puzzled Hearts is my new addiction.  I understand that it's a flash issue and I really don't want to bog down the tablet.

7. Netflix: I can totally do this and use Vanessa's account.  I already watched one episode of a show and all I can say is WOW.  The picture looks great and sound is pretty much excellent if you have no sounds around you to drown it out.  I have a headset for privacy as well.

8. YouTube: This is actually a personal favorite.  I will be able to keep up with my favorite YouTube channels and watch everything I put in my watch later folder.  I mostly watch National Geographic, The Smithsonian Channel and The History Channel.  I updated the YouTube app and now for some reason it won't go full screen but I will figure out what I did and fix it.

9. Skype: Vanessa has been wanting me to use Skype with her and now I can very easily.  The webcam is on the face of the tablet which would mean only "selfie" pictures and video can be done, but it's perfect for viewing your friends and family that live far.

10. Instagram: This I had been wanting to use for a long time but the android phone wouldn't allow me due to space issues.  Everything looks sharp and I can now share pictures on there I deem to be "okay" because I have a past employer following me!  I discovered that tonight so I must play nice and be professional at the same time.

11. Spotify: This is like the most important thing ever!!! I have to have my music no matter what.  The tablet comes with plenty of space for apps so I have added this because Spotify takes a little too much space on the phone.

Features that I love on the tablet are as follows:

1. Voice Recognition: Cell phones have this feature and am so glad that the tablet has it because sometimes I would much rather speak what I want put in text if it's a lot.  I have a voice that speaks clearly and the error rate is pretty low.

2. MicroSD Card Slot: This is actually great because I do have a MicroSD card that I haven't been able to use.  It has music on there that I had purchased a few years back.  I can double this slot for a flash card as well.

3. Locking Options: The tablet has several options for unlocking it.  I, accidentally, already had it lock on me and wasn't sure how to regain access.  I thought it was hilarious and instead of figuring it out, I turned it off and back on.  Eventually, I went into the settings and saw additional unlocking options to make it more secure.  I will set those up later.

4. Weather Forecast: I actually use this on a regular basis and like to know in advance what the weather will be like by at least two days.

5. Bluetooth Capability: This I actually would use.  It means that I can connect my phone to the tablet to take my calls.  That would be really nice.  I used to do it with my GPS unit.

6. Google Maps: Having a 7-inch screen is plenty for looking up maps and getting directions.  I will be using this a lot.

I've only had this thing for a few hours and I have to say that it has not let me down at all in any way.  My setup process for everything was quick and easy so I was up and running within minutes.  For the price that I paid and how I will be using this, it's going to do me just fine.

Oh and because I DO like to personalize my belongings, I did change the wallpaper on the tablet! I used the same picture that is on my laptop.

Rap A Tap

Tap, tap, tap
I snap my head up but see nothing

Tap, tap, tap
Once more I lift my head but nothing

Forming a frown I get up
And walk on over to the kitchen window

It's blinds open;
The glass wet from the outside

The tree branches are barren
And not close enough to rap against the window

It's past midnight
All is quiet but the occasional sound of tires on wet asphalt

I turn my sight to my right
-The clock on the wall reads after 2:00 a.m.

I take a breath and exhale
And walk back to my seat

Tap, tap, tap
I scowl back at my screen

Tap, tap, tap
Once more I raise myself

As I walk towards the sound
I still see nothing

Listening intently
Following the sound leads me to the front door

Unlocking the deadbolt
I slowly open the door

And looking straight ahead
See nothing but the trees

As I begin to close the door
My sight pivots downwards for a moment

I see nothing
And shake my head at the nonsense

Turning around to come back to my seat
I stop in my tracks in the middle of the room

Looking back at me
Drenched in water from the rain

Spotted in brown and white
With blue eyes;

At least 10 years old
Was the dog that I didn't even notice

Journey - My Top 20 Favorite Songs

I started listening to Journey when I was 13 years old so I am more familiar with their sounds from 2006 and going backwards. Steve Perry was their lead vocals during the time. He has great vocals and it's one of those voices that is timeless, in my opinion, because I don't know anyone who can sing the songs. Steve Perry went solo with songs such as 'Oh, Sherry," which I love as well. I think that the band still remained pretty true to their style close to the end while Perry was there but I can distinguish differences in the last two albums that made me stop following them. However, I can listen to any of their earlier work and never get tired of them. I can get a good fill of their music in me for up to two hours before my mood changes for a different genre I want to listen to and sometimes I just go lateral. I grew up with Journey though so to me they are one of the best there was back in the 1980's.

The following are my top favorites in order:

1. Faithfully (Dedication goes to three men in my life.)

2. Separate Ways (Dedication goes to one man in my life.)

3. Open Arms (No dedication. This has no special meaning in my life.)

4. When You Love A Woman (No dedication. It has a special coded meaning.)

5. I'll Be Alright Without You (Dedication to one man in my life.)

I first listened to Journey one night when I asked my brother to let me borrow his cassette. I put it in my walkman (Man, I'm old!), which I placed under my pillow to listen to so that I can go to sleep hearing it. Well, at first, it was a fail to sleep because I actually was paying attention to the lyrics. What a great start in music as a teenager! I remember my brother asking for his tape once and I said "but I like it and am still listening." Needless to say, my brother was impressed and he let me have it. I then got to own my first album on cassette and it was Frontiers.

The following are my next favorites in order:

6. Stone In Love

7. Patiently

8. Chain Reaction

9. Don't Stop Believin'

10. Lights

Journey is one of those bands that you can listen to them and you literally enjoy every last song simply because they are just what I would term as 'feel good music.' It's not music that has a personal memorabilia every time but a lot of it came from a time period in everyone's life where you just enjoyed listening while hanging out with friends or just cruisin' along. I may have started listening in my teens which was the 1980's but I have three siblings older than I am that really enjoyed the older music. However, their taste in their favorites don't differ too much from my own when it comes to this artist. Even my daughter has a good appreciation for them because she was raised listening to me playing the songs. I had a blast singing Journey with my daughter when she was in her pre-teen. Together, her and I sound great. I hope that she continues the tradition of great classics with my grandson!

The following favorites comes after my top 10 in order:

11. Who's Crying Now

12. Wheel In The Sky

13. Only The Young

14. Send Her My Love

15. Ask The Lonely

16. Any Way You Want It

17. Escape

18. Rubicon

19. Still They Ride

20. Stay Awhile

I've had a great time going through Journey's albums and listening to everything. However, there is nothing like going back to the very beginning of their journey when they first released their very first album titled Journey in 1975. I did give it a listen and the difference between before Steve Perry and after is very different. Perry is good but I have to say, with all due respect, that I prefer the sound before he joined the band.

Listen to Journey's Of A Lifetime from the self titled Journey released in 1975:

Set Me Free

Give me a gentle touch;
Whisper in my ear;
And no longer will I fear

Be gentle to my soul;
Let me feel the sun
And through the fields I will run

Set my mind free;
Silence the voices
So that I hear no more the noises

Let my heart love another;
Let not my emotions be harbored;
Enough they have been battered

Listen to my heart;
It's telling you how I feel;
It's fate to you it appeals

To you I ask of this;
Let my soul fly

If you don't want to see me cry
